Financial institutions such as banks and NBFCs provide loans for overseas education, primarily targeting undergraduate and postgraduate programs. They favor professional and job-oriented courses when considering loan approvals.

Indian students who demonstrate strong academic performance and have the necessary documents are eligible. Education loans are accessible for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for applicants aged between 18 and 35 years, provided they have an admission offer from a chosen university.

While there's no fixed cap on the loan amount for studying abroad, banks typically extend loans ranging from INR 20 to 30 lakhs. Note that loans exceeding INR 20 lakhs may attract higher interest rates.

For secured loans, you can pledge assets like residential properties, non-agricultural land, fixed deposits, term life insurance policies, government bonds, or gold. It's important to note that agricultural land is not accepted as collateral.

To apply for an education loan, you need to furnish four types of documents: identity proofs, academic records, technical documents, and legal paperwork.
